When Mat popped the question in December 2013, we began planning our dream wedding. Fortunately enough, we were very much in tune (phew as that could have made for some pre-marital arguments). We wanted somewhere that was unique to our personalities and that could make the most of the beautiful outdoor vibe. Above all else, somewhere that we could have the party of a lifetime with our nearest and dearest – leaving them with unforgettable memories.
From early on, this was our wedding wish list, a space that could grow and flex with numbers of guests (we were still adding on aunts/great uncles and friends of friends) so adaptable space suitable for our final numbers was key.
Wedding venue hunting began. We did the usual, hotel, country house, barns – nothing really felt individual to us. The vibe was very much pre-determined packages with limited choice to put your own stamp on it. We know from the off, we wanted a unique cosy, relaxed and informal style. Our dream was a tipi, complete with wood-burning fires, breathtaking lighting, places to party and of course a chill out areas for friends and family. All made more spectacular by celebrating our wedding underneath the stars and in the heart of nature.
